This Cookie Policy explains how Azzurro Travel, Inc. ("Azzurro Travel," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on azzurrotravel.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly.
The short version: this site sets no cookies at all until you tell us what you are comfortable with. If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to count visits. We do not run advertising cookies, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell your data.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It can be read back on a later page or a later visit, which is what allows a site to remember something about you — a preference, a session, or the fact that you have been here before. "Similar technologies" means things that achieve the same result by other means, such as browser local storage or a tracking pixel. Where this policy says "cookies," it covers all of them.
Cookies set by azzurrotravel.com are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose code runs on our pages — Google, in our case — are third-party cookies. A session cookie disappears when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive require your prior, informed, freely given consent before any non-essential cookie is placed on your device. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is being used: how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they are, and which links brought them here. It tells us that a page is being ignored or that a form is being abandoned. It is not used to identify you, to contact you, or to advertise to you.

Google acts as our processor for this data and may process it outside the EEA. Google's own handling of it is described in Google's privacy and terms for business, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Turning analytics off deletes the _ga cookies described above. Your choice is remembered for 180 days, after which we ask again — consent is not meant to last forever. We also ask again if we change the cookies we use, because the consent version stored in az_consent will no longer match.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, which overrides anything we do. Note that deleting az_consent makes the banner reappear, because your answer is what that cookie was holding.
Browser "Do Not Track" headers are not covered by an agreed standard and most sites ignore them, so we do not rely on that signal. Instead, we keep analytics off for everyone by default, which achieves the same outcome without requiring you to trust a header.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland you have the rights set out in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, plus the right to complain to your national data protection authority. California residents have the parallel rights described in the same section.
If we add, remove or repurpose a cookie, we will update the table above, change the "Last updated" date and increment the consent version. Increasing the version invalidates previously stored answers, so you will be asked again rather than being held to a choice you made about a different set of cookies.
